Hello Barcelona!

Last time I was here, I only stayed overnight. In fact you can read about it here. This time round it was a four day trip with my school packed with a full itinerary.

Tuesday – Monasterio de Montserrat and Picasso Museum

The drive up the mountain range of Montserrat was so breathtaking! It was so serene. The inside of the cathedral was just as beautiful. While there, we listened to a boy’s choir (L’Escolania de Montserrat) perform then walked through the cathedral.

That evening, we visited the Picasso Museum. This was my second time visiting but it was better because I was able to enjoy it with friends who had not been before. I even saw some paintings I did not see before.

For dinner, some friends and I went to this burger place I visited – Bacoa. I ordered a vegan chickpea spinach burger on a salad. So good! I highly recommend this restaurant for vegetarians and meat eaters. My friends who eat meat loved their burgers.

Wednesday – Park Güell and La Sagrada Família

Fun fact, a part of the movie Cheetah Girls was filmed in Park Güell.

When I was at Park Güell all I could think of was the Cheetah Girls movie.. Although, the views from the top were beautiful.

Last time I visited, I did not get a chance to visit La Sagrada Família. I was in ‘awh’ when I walked inside. It was breathtaking inside. There was so much beauty in the architecture and with the light that shown through the stained-glass windows. Just look at these photos!

Thursday – Teatre-Museu Dalií and Girona, Spain

I was so excited to see Salvador Dalí’s museum. I remember learning about him in a few of my art classes at university. I loved Dalí’s works because he was a surrealist.

That afternoon we traveled to Girona, Spain. This city is known for its medieval architecture and it one of the sites where part of season 6 of Game of Thrones was filmed.

I forgot that it was Valentine’s Day until my friend double checked if we were still on for dinner that night. A group of friends and I went to a Peruvian restaurant called El Dorado Chicken. I ordered their rice and forgot how big portions are when it comes to Peruvian food. I could only finish half of it.

Friday – Castell de Montjuic and Anella Olimpica

Today was our last day in Barcelona. That morning we visited the Castell de Montjuic. This military fort was showed views of the port and city of Barcelona. There was this art piece in an open area of the fort that was pretty cool as well.

Later, we visited the Anella Olímpica. This is where the 1992 Summer Olympics was held.

After, we stopped for lunch before heading back to campus. It was exciting having different experiences in Barcelona this second time. Now if only I could get myself to start watching Game of Thrones (lol).
